 | The Account Manager performs the essential functions of the position, which include aiding the Producers and customers with service needs and making changes to existing accounts. Specific service and marketing responsibilities are required in this position. Meets service and sales delivery standards and performs essential functions to the quality and service standards developed by the agency.


 Primary Responsibilities:
·         

  • Provides technical support to Producer; specifically, in analyzing customer needs, coverage forms and quotations. 
  • Schedules appointments with customers as requested by the Producer 
  • Occasionally accompanies Producer on prospect and customer meetings as requested by the Producer
  • Completes application in coordination with Producer; submits applications or quotes online to eligible and appropriate carriers; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies.
  • Orders and issues binder, certificates, policies, endorsements and other related items; verifies their accuracy; forwards them to the customer with appropriate correspondence. 
  • Determines if direct or agency billing is appropriate and invoices accordingly 
  • Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules and proposals for the Producer and customer as directed by the Producer. 
  • Processes renewals in coordination with the Producer.
  • Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates correction as needed between the customer and carrier. Determines if direct or agency billing is appropriate and invoices accordingly.
  • Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
  • Processes incoming mail and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately. 
  • Uses agency billing procedures in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments. Communicates effectively with the Producer regarding past due accounts receivable items.
  • Determines reasons for requests for cancellations; acts to save accounts; notifies the Producer.
  • Processes and follows up on cancellation requests to carrier to ensure accurate and timely resolution. 
  • Assists customers in submitting first reports of claims, facilitates prompt response from carrier staff and follows up on claims status and notifies Producer. 
  • Identifies exposure to loss and recommends appropriate coverages in coordination with the Producer.  

Personal and Organizational Development: 

  • Sets priorities and manages work flow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities. 
  • Maintains a cordial and professional relationship with customers, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts. 
  • Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance. 
  • Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communications skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency.  

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Prior experience in Property, Casualty insurance account management
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with other to explain complex issues, receives and interprets complex information, and responds accordingly. 
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication, and interpret abstract information. 
  • Property, Casualty Agents License. 
  • Knowledge of insurance products and their appropriate application. 
  • Knowledge of insurance markets. 
  • Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures.
  • Familiarity with computer, specific experience using MS Office products and insurance specific software such as Applied or AMS systems.
  • Ability to perform 70% sedentary work. 
  • Ability to process written and other materials visually. 
  • Physical efforts required include fingering, repetitive small motor activity, grasping, verbally communicating detailed and important information to others quickly and accurately, stooping, reaching, standing, lifting light objects less than 10 pounds. 
  • Requires ability to receive detailed information through oral communication. 

Working Conditions:

  • High pressured, fast paced environment with significant telephone and personal disruption. Large number of multiple steps in complex system performed with accuracy and speed is essential to the successful completion of tasks.

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
